Michigan Citizens For Tax Reform, Obama files papers

Check out this link to a new organization dedicated to pursuing new ways to improve Michigan economy and shrinking the deficit; other than by raising taxes.

It focuses on things like shrinking government and cutting spending.    Plese sign the online petition.

The Detriot News even wrote a blog about it:

Sign online petition against tax hike

With Gov. Jennifer Granholm clearly steering the state in the direction of a tax hike, some taxpayers are attempting a preemptive strike.

The group Michigan Citizens for Tax Reform is circulating an online petition to allow Michigan residents to speak out now against a tax hike. To sign the petition, go to http://www.michigancitizensfortaxreform.com

The effort is spear-headed by former state Rep. Matt Milosch, who argues that the state can’t tax itself out of a recession. More likely, Milosch says, higher taxes will deepen the current fiscal crisis. He’s right.

Granholm seems convinced that voters, in giving her a landslide victory last November, endorsed her vision of higher taxes and bigger government. The emergency panel she drafted to come up with solutions for the budget shortfall is led by former Govs. Bill Milliken and Jim Blanchard, both of whom raised taxes when they found themselves in Granholm’s situation. Most of the rest of the panel members are on the record as supporting higher taxes.

Granholm needs to hear from voters that her assumptions are wrong, that they didn’t consider a vote for her a vote for a tax hike.

Signing the online petition is a good way to deliver that message.
